Lessons begin with a consultation during which we discuss what your personal requirements are and tailor your tuition accordingly.
Lessons can take place in my teaching room at home. My teaching room is equipped with a Bechstein Grand Piano along with the latest audio and visual teaching resources. The lessons are a minimum of 30 minutes in length and can be arranged as a one off consultation or on a regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.
Each lesson will be divided up into two parts; the first consisting of vocal based exercises and warm ups chosen for your specific vocal development and the second part working on selected repertoire.The main focus will be on establishing a vocal technique with an emphasis on breathing, support, posture and articulation.
Tuition is tailored to cater for all levels including students that have been recognised within the education system as being gifted and talented.
For children it is recognised by the Department of Education that singing can improve learning, confidence, health and social development.
For those Children who are new to singing we learn songs by ear without having to know anything about music theory, but develop this learning over a period of time.
I hold a current enhanced CRB and DBS and have undergone the required child safeguarding training for 2022/23.
Audition and exam technique / preparation can be covered for beginner through to the professional artist.
Students will receive weekly emailed reports giving a summary of their lesson including material studied and areas for focus and development. Progression is monitored continually , but a fine balance between enjoyment and development is always maintained.
